ALL STUDENTS MUST ATTEND BOTH THE UNIVERSITY AND COLLEGE ORIENTATION PROGRAMS IN ORDER TO REMAIN REGISTERED FOR CLASSES.
Please be aware that acceptance to the University does not mean that you have been accepted into your chosen program in the College of The Arts (See Special Requirements for Majors below for more information).

FIRST YEAR STUDENTS
As a newly admitted first year student in the College of The Arts, you will be pre-registered for classes prior to your orientation date. Please click on the link below to fill out a survey that we will use along with your academic record and course availability to pre-register you in the courses we feel are most essential for your first semester. After orientation, you will be free to adjust your schedule.

TRANSFER STUDENTS
As a newly admitted transfer student in the College of The Arts, you will be registered during your orientation by your advisor. Advising begins promptly at 1:00 pm in FAH 120, please do not be late. NOTE: You must attend both the University and college portions of orientation. The University portion begins before the college portion.
How to Prepare for Your Orientation
- Clear up any holds that would prevent your registration. For example, Student Health Services for immunization, insurance, etc.
- Bring your transcript from your previous school, in the event your courses were not posted in our computer system.
Special Requirements for Majors
ART STUDIO: If you are planning on Art Studio as your major you must have submitted a portfolio and been accepted by the School of Art and Art History to attend our advising session. To find out more information about the portfolio review visit ART PORTFOLIO
MUSIC: If you are planning on majoring in any area in Music you must audition and be accepted by the School of Music to attend our advising session. To find out more information about the School of Music's audition process visit MUSIC AUDITION
DANCE: If you are planning on majoring in Dance you must audition and be accepted by the School of Theatre and Dance to attend our advising session. To find out more information about the Dance audition visit DANCE AUDITION
ART HISTORY, THEATRE & PRE-ARCHITECTURE: There are no special requirements for Art History, Theatre, or Pre-Architecture majors. Admission to the University of South Florida will allow you to enter these majors.
English and Reading Placement
All students are required to complete two semesters of English Composition (ENC 1101 and ENC 1102). Students with lower test scores may also be required to take a Reading course. ENC 1101 and 1102 are each 3 hours; Prep Writing and Lab (ENC 0020) and Prep Reading and Lab (REA 0002) are both 5 hours.

Math and Science Placement
All Non-Science students are required to take at least two approved Math and two approved Science courses. Non-science majors usually take either a math or a science course in their first semester. If a math course was not selected this semester, your coordinator selected a non-major science course instead.
