How to Declare/Change Your Major |
Entering College
|
Special Requirements for Majors
ARCHITECTURE: If you are planning on majoring in Architecture, it is a limited access graduate program and you must be accepted by portfolio. Prior to acceptance into this program, undergraduate students interested in Architecture are declared as Pre-Architecture. To find out more information about the program visit ARCHITECTURE PORTFOLIO
ART STUDIO: If you are planning on Art Studio as your major you must have submitted a portfolio and been accepted by the School of Art and Art History to attend our advising session. To find out more information about the portfolio review visit ART PORTFOLIO
MUSIC: If you are planning on majoring in any area in Music you must audition and be accepted by the School of Music to attend our advising session. To find out more information about the School of Music's audition process visit MUSIC AUDITION
DANCE: If you are planning on majoring in Dance you must audition and be accepted by the School of Theatre and Dance to attend our advising session. To find out more information about the Dance audition visit DANCE AUDITION
ART HISTORY and THEATRE: There are no special requirements for Art History or Theatre majors. Admission to the University of South Florida will allow you to enter these majors.

Current USF Students
STEP 1: Meet special requirements criteria above (if applicable).
STEP 2: Go to your current college advising office website to determine what their procedures for changing your major are, and then tell them you would like to change your major and ask them to send your paperwork to the CoTA Advising, FAH 110.

College of Education
STEP 3: Go to CoTA Student Services & Advising, FAH 120 and fill out a declaration of major form.
New USF Students
STEP 1: Meet special requirements criteria above (if applicable).
STEP 2: Attend a new student orientation. For more information visit USF ORIENTATION.
Leaving College
STEP 1: Check to make sure you meet special requirements (if applicable) for your new major.
College of Arts and Sciences
STEP 2: Go to CoTA Student Services & Advising, FAH 120 and notify the college you wish to change your major.
STEP 3: Please fill out a Change of Major Exit Questionnaire
STEP 4: Go to your new college advising office and make an appointment for advising.
