Although I would rather welcome you to the USF College of The Arts in person, our website is the fastest way to reach out to you in this age of universal electronic communication- so welcome! On behalf of the College, I extend my warmest greetings to you and hope that you will spend a few minutes exploring the various dimensions of this website and its links to our units of Architecture & Community Design, Art & Art History, Music, Theatre & Dance, and our Institute for Research in Art, which includes Graphicstudio and our Contemporary Art Museum.
If you were here in person, I would offer to take you on a tour to meet our energetic and gifted students, our dedicated and accomplished faculty, our tireless support staff, plus visit our studios, classrooms, gathering areas, and performance and exhibition spaces. I can’t accompany you on this tour electronically, but if I could, I would point out the many outstanding and quality initiatives that serve to define and characterize who we are.
Let me share with you what I think describes the arts at USF. Put simply, we are a group of faculty and students who have come together, forming a vibrant and energized, creative and innovative community that explores, discovers, and restructures scholarly, artistic, and design thinking. Our goals are to prepare students for the arts/architecture career of their choice and to make them ready to step into the future successfully, to create and examine topics, issues, and questions from the perspective of scholarship and/or artists/designers, and to generate new insights, images, sounds, movements, and stories that challenge the mind and touch our emotions. We are the arts at USF - you can see this as you explore these web pages as well as when you visit in person to see and feel it for yourself.
Thank you again for your interest in the arts at USF.
