College of The Arts Council

The College of the Arts Council seeks to bring together the disciplines of Art & Art History, Music, Theatre, Architecture & Community Design, and Dance. Within the Council, each discipline has it's own elected representative. The Council seeks to involve students both in their respective colleges and those in other areas further in the Arts. 

Architecture

The School encourages other University students, not pursuing the Master in Architecture degree, to enroll in its numerous undergraduate and graduate course as electives within their individual majors.

Architecture College Council (ACC)

ACC is a Student government organization established for students interested in architecture.

American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) USF Chapter

Music

Collegiate Music Educators National Conference

The collegiate level allows students like Music Education students to get a head start on their professions. CMENC allows its members to get different kinds of experience that will help them in the Music Education field ranging from experience in teaching to experience in organizing concerts. They also do philanthropic events and try to help schools in the area by doing things like benefit concerts.

Gospel Choir at USF

Herd of Thunder Marching Band & Pep Band

The USF "Herd of Thunder" ("H.O.T.") Marching Band is 225+ members strong in 2009! The HOT Band performs at all USF home football games in the 75,000 seat Raymond James Stadium (home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers!), as well as selected away games and Bowl games. The Marching Band currently requires auditions for the Drumline and Colorguard, but all wind players with previous band experience are accepted.

Student Dance Production Board

Student Theatre Production Board

All students are welcome to audition for upcoming theatre and/or dance productions. Auditions for productions will be posted on the website: http://theatreanddance.arts.usf.edu.

Non-major courses in both theatre and dance are also available (i.e. fundamentals of ballet, fundamentals of modern, introduction to dance, introduction to theatre, voice body improvisation, etc.)

Interested non-majors, who would like to take upper level dance technique courses, should audition for appropriate placement.

As tap is not currently offered in the dance program at the University of South Florida, Tap at USF formed as an organization dedicated to studying the unique style. Tap at USF accepts all levels of dancers and is welcome to anyone currently studying at the University of South Florida.
