Scholarships

The College of The Arts offers more than 70 merit-based scholarships, providing more than $150,000 in financial support annually. A brief description of these scholarships is included below.   • Aboly-Velma R Lykes Endowed Scholarship in Music
    Endowment Scholarships for exceptional merit and high quality students.

  • Adah Schaich Endowed Scholarship in Photography
    To provide student sholarships in Photography.

  • African American Incentive Operating Fund
    Competitive scholarship based on portfolio review, previous GPA and/or recommendations.

  • Alexandra & William Frye Endowed Scholarship
    Scholarships for undergraduate students in Theatre and Dance and graduate students in Music and Visual Art. 

  • Alice & Daniel Rosenbaum Scholarship in Music
    Scholarship support for students in the USF School of Music with financial need.

  • Art Department Scholarship Fund
    Supplement programs in Art with financial aid and to help students with the purpose of supplies and materials.

  • Art Department Faculty & Staff Scholarship Award Fund
    General Scholarship Awards.

  • Austin & Arline Rising Scholarship in Music
    Students who are majoring in the Department of Music.

  • Bravo Endowed Scholarship in Dance
    To provide tution assitance to exceptionally talented dancers.

  • Dawn Randall Zimmerman Endowed Scholarship
    To provide scholarships to deserving full-time USF flute students.

  • Dean John L. Smith Jr. Endowed Fine Arts Scholarship
    To recognize and reward demonstrated excellence to an undergraduate fine arts student majoring in art, dance, music, or theatre.  The award shall be presented at the annual College of Fine Arts Graduation Celebration or another special event if the celebration is continued.

  • Dorothy A. Smith Endowed Scholarship Fund
    Scholarships for serious music students of demostrated talent and desire pursuing the study of Baroque, Classical, and Romantic music.

  • Emma & Julius Hawkins Scholarship in Music Theory
    Scholarships for graduate students majoring in music during their second year of the degree program. 

  • Estelle Zbar Endowed Scholarship in Music
    Scholarship for USF piano student.

  • Florence Powers Endowed Memorial Scholarship
    Annual scholarship to a student in music.

  • Flossie Jones Monroe Endowed Voice Scholarship
    Scholarship to an outstanding Voice Performance major.

  • Francis & Kay Borkowski Scholarship in Music
    Scholarship awards to students in the School of Music only.

  • Gail Benedict Scholarship Fund
    Scholarship in School of Music  for students with a Music Major, with preference given to students studying the Flute.   

  • Grace Allen - Clarion Society
    Scholarship support for students in the school of music.

  • Henry S. Parrish Endowed Scholarship in Dance
    To recognize demonstrated outstanding accomplishment in dance performance, especially Jazz dance.

  • Hope Rietschlin Memorial Scholarship
    General Scholarship awards, rotating through all CoTA disciplines.

  • J. W. Winter Endowed Scholarship
    Scholarships for Voice Students.

  • Jack & Jeanne Winter Endowed Fellowship in Art
    An endowed Fellowship in Art for a graduate student.

  • Jacques Abram Memorial Scholarship
    Scholarships for students with exceptional achievement in piano performance. 

  • James Rosenquist Endowed Scholarship in Art
    Purpose: Scholarships for Graduate students in the MFA and MA Programs.

  • Jameson Kelly Memorial Scholarship in Music
    Scholarships to full-time undergraduate students majoring in Vocal Performance. 

  • Jane & Harrison Covington Award
    A student who is a major in the School of Art & Art History, and who, during his/her junior year or beyond, is judged to be the most outstanding student in the College at that time because of superior artistic and scholastic achievements.

  • John W. Coker Memorial Scholarship
    General scholarship fund for high-achieving students in the College of Visual and Performing Arts, with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

  • Kay & Fred Meyer Family Scholarship in Music
    Scholarships for students in the School of Music to benefit voice scholarships in the areas of chorus, opera, and core ensembles; and instrumental scholarships in the areas of orchestra, band, jazz, chamber music, and core ensembles. 

  • Krewe of Theatre USF-Nancy Cole Scholarship
    Scholarships for Theatre majors.

  • Marjorie Roe Endowed Scholarship in Cello
    An endowed scholarship for students studying cello in the music program.

  • Marlene Reese Theatre Scholarship
    A scholarship for undergraduate theatre majors that will recognize excellence and outstanding performance. The fund has been created in honor of Marlene Reese, a long-time employee of USF who finishes her career as an executive assistant in the university provost's office. Marlene Reese spent many years working in the theatre department and remains highly supportive of the theatre program and its students.

  • Martin D. Andrews III Endowed Scholarship
    Scholarships for Choral students.

  • Mary E Bogdonas Endowed Scholarship in Music
    Scholarship in field of music, piano or instruments.

  • Merri Fenn Story Opera Scholarship
    Scholarship for Opera students.

  • Nancy Kay Mayo Endowed Scholarship in Music
    Support to students involved in the choral program within the School of Music.

  • Paris Art Scholarship
    Scholarships and grants for USF students to participate in the Summer Art Program in Paris, an annually study program organized by the Art Department.

  • Patrick Keim Endowed Memorial Scholarship
    Endowed Scholarship for School of Music students.

  • Playmakers Theatre Scholarship Fund
    Scholarships for Theatre majors, based on artistic excellence.

  • Ruth & Diane Cadow Scholarship
    Scholarship awards to deserving undergraduate students exceptionally talented in the area of brass instruments.

  • Siede Student Endowment Fund
    General scholarships for talented students.

  • Skip & Holly Thomas Endowed Scholarship in Music
    Scholarships to students in the School of Music, performing in any USF orchestral group or band.

  • String Instrument Endowed Scholarship
    Scholarship for a stringed instrument student.

  • Tanya Hatcher Memorial Scholarship in Music
    Scholarships for Music students.

  • Theatre Scholarship
    Scholarships for students with financial need for theatre majors in the following areas: Performance, Design, Theatre Arts and Theatre Education.

  • Victoria Catherine Selden Dance Scholarship
    Scholarships for students majoring in Dance.

  • Virginia Bridges Scholarship in Music Education
    A scholarship for music education students in the School of Music of the College of Fine Arts.

  • William & Nancy Oliver Scholarship
    To support outstanding students in financial need enrolled in the USF School of Art & Art History.

  • William Hug Endowed Scholarship
    Scholarships for USF Dance students.

  • WWD Endowed Scholarship
    Purpose:  To provide scholarship support for male dance students in need of financial aid.
