For information go to:

The Dance discipline, which is part of the School of Theatre and Dance, focuses on the professional preparation and education of dance artists as performers, choreographers, and teachers. The curricula of study focus on three areas of specialty: Studio Technique (Modern/Ballet), Creative Studio Technique (ie. Choreography, Dance Improvisation), and Dance Theory (ie. Dance History/Kinesiology).

Guest teachers and choreographers and the presentation of dance in concert is essential to the program. The curriculum and methodology focus on providing students with an understanding and accomplishment of the physical, intellectual, and aesthetic demands required in teaching, creating, and performing.

USF's Dance Centre features studios with floating wood floors covered with multi-layered Tarkett to protect against injuries, with built-in sound systems and walnut barres. Observation galleries are available for viewing studio classes/performances.
